Hi all,
Something a little different from my usual. I was invited by composer
C. Reider (vuzhmusic.com) to submit something for a netlabel compilation
he's putting together of music based on samples from his extensive back
catalog. (It's an open call - see
http://www.vuzhmusic.com/blog/2010/11/28/20-years-of-strange-sounds/.)
I took a 420 millisecond sample from a piece of his called Linguisms 1
(the sample is essentially a single phoneme from a recording of Noam
Chomsky's voice), stretched it 5000x using Paul's Extreme Stretch
program, then used Csound to play it back along with sine oscillator
tones driven by the output of the pvspitch opcode trying to do a running
pitch analysis of the resulting drone.
