I can't get Csound to run on my computer, it keeps saying "python is not
recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file". Any ideas? Hi Mikey,
Could you mention what operating system you're on, and what CSD are you trying? Are you running on the commandline, or using CsoundQT? I'm using Windows Vista. I'm just trying to run a basic synthesizer. I'm running
on CsoundQT.
Do I need to have python installed and added to the DOS path for Csound to run? > Date: Tue, 20 Mar 2012 18:45:19 +0000 > From: [hidden email] > To: [hidden email] > Subject: Re: [Csnd] Can't get Csound to Run > > Hi Mikey, > > Could you mention what operating system you're on, and what CSD are > you trying? Hi MIkey,
Perhaps someone on Windows could assist here (I'm on Mac mostly these days). However, did you install CsoundQT separately from Csound, or using the one from the Windows Csound installer? It seems to me that it may be an issue with CsoundQT rather than Csound, as usually when there is a python related error within Csound the message is different. It sounds like CsoundQT is trying to run some python script, but I'm only guessing here. Hi Mikey,
Which version of Csound/CsoundQt are you using? The windows installers have never been kind to those who don't have
Python. Usually one gets a message in the form of 'Python2.6.dll not found' etc. Is this the error you're getting too? Hi,
Yes, it sounds like some program is trying to run python. Could you try to run the attached very simple test csd file, and try to run it on the command line. - open a terminal windows from start menu - run - cmd - cd to the directory where you've put the sinetest.csd - type csound sinetest.csd and hit enter It would be very strange if you got anything python related when doing this test. all best Oeyvind 2012/3/20 andy fillebrown <[hidden email]>: > Hi Mikey, > > Which version of Csound/CsoundQt are you using? > > Cheers, > ~ andy.fillebrown > > > > On Tue, Mar 20, 2012 at 2:41 PM, <[hidden email]> wrote: >> I can't get Csound to run on my computer, it keeps saying "python is not >> recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file". >> Any ideas? >> >> >> Send bugs reports to the Sourceforge bug tracker >> https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=81968&atid=564599 >> Discussions of bugs and features can be posted here >> To unsubscribe, send email [hidden email] with body "unsubscribe csound" >> > > > Send bugs reports to the Sourceforge bug tracker > https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=81968&atid=564599 > Discussions of bugs and features can be posted here > To unsubscribe, send email [hidden email] with body "unsubscribe csound" > -- Oeyvind Brandtsegg Professor of Music Technology NTNU 7491 Trondheim Norway Cell: +47 92 203 205 http://flyndresang.no/ http://www.partikkelaudio.com/ http://soundcloud.com/brandtsegg http://soundcloud.com/t-emp Send bugs reports to the Sourceforge bug tracker https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=81968&atid=564599 Discussions of bugs and features can be posted here To unsubscribe, send email [hidden email] with body "unsubscribe csound" |

The current Windows installers remind the user that, if they wish to
install Python interfaces or features, they must first have installed Python. The default installation does not include any of these Python features. The complete installation does include all of them.
